The National Sports Centre led by a volunteer Board of Trustees who oversee its operation, planning, development and maintenance. It is currently funded by grant received from the Government of Bermuda and revenues generated from its valued users with The Bermuda Tourism Authority working diligently to heighten sports tourism and international training opportunities in Bermuda. The National Sports Centre is projected to be front and center in the international spotlight. It has successfully hosted various international events and are excited to prepare for 2017’s lineup which includes the following:
The Bermuda Heroes Weekend opening night concert, (June) attracting number of overseas guests to our shores to experience Carnival with a Bermudian twist.
The Area Permit Meet, (July) a track event hosting well known Olympians, whose international recognition will bring much appreciated global exposure for the National Sports Centre and corporate sponsors.
International Hockey Training, (August) featuring seven US hockey teams. Three of which will play a mini-tournament which will include the Bermuda National team, who are in training over the summer for the 2017 CAC Games.
Saracens Rugby Tour, (August) a week long training camp in August and an international friendly.
The World Rugby Classic, (November) featuring a number of former international Rugby players from around the globe.
We continue to seek strategic partnership with foundations, corporations and philanthropists in our non-going efforts to bring our Mission Statement and sport approach to life.
